I provide counseling services customized to each individual’s situation using various theoretical disciplines and therapeutic with the goal to educate clients and help them learn how to implement appropriate coping strategies so they can get back on track to a more balanced and enjoyable life”.

I am a native of San Francisco, CA. My professional portfolio entails over 30 years’ combined prior experience in the field of finance/accounting across more than 15 industries, including but not limited to all levels of Government (federal, state, and municipal); Healthcare, Entertainment, Public Relations (Advertising, Sales/Marketing), Real Estate and Property Management, Secondary and Higher Education; Transportation; and now Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Development (University of California at Davis, 1989); a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree (California State University East Bay, 2009); and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University (2019). Previously, while living in the state of Alabama, the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling (ABEC) awarded me an Associate License Counselor (ALC) license in 2020 which permitted me to establish my private counseling practice in Vestavia Hills, AL called Renewing The Mind Counseling Services, LLC in the year 2020.

Upon my relocation back to the state of Texas where I completed my clinical counseling hours from 2018-2019, the Texas Department of Health and Human Services awarded me a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern license (LCDC-I) in 2020. In 2021, I was also approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBC) as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Most recently in 2021, the state of Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) awarded me the Licensed Professional Counselor Associate license (LPC-Associate). This license now affords me the opportunity to begin accruing the necessary hours to acquire full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
